Noma Bar
Noma Bar loves to tell visual stories. With a deft touch he can imbue simple graphic forms with political and social commentary, or manipulate everyday icons to create witty, double-take images that make you look once, twice, three times. With his bold use of colours, shapes and pared down iconography, Noma's instantly recognizable style has established him as one of the world’s most in-demand illustrators and an Outline Editions favourite.
Noma was born in 1973 in Israel and now lives and works in North London. He's a heavyweight in the illustration world, with his work appearing for Time Out, BBC, Random House, The Observer, The Economist, The Guardian and Wallpaper*. He has illustrated over one hundred magazine covers, published over 550 illustrations and released three books of his work: Guess Who - The Many Faces of Noma Bar in 2008, Negative Space in 2009 and Bittersweet 2017, a 680 page 5 volume monograph produced in a Limited Edition of 1000 published by Thames & Hudson.
Noma's work has been recognised widely, his awards include a Gold Clio, a Yellow Pencil award at the D&AD Professional Awards and his London Design Festival exhibition 'Cut It Out', was selected as one of the highlights of the festival. The project was nominated in the graphics category for the Design Museum, Designs Of the Year.
